The Approach

Utah County consistently accounts for roughly 13 percent of all children experiencing intergenerational poverty (IGP) in Utah, one of the highest total counts in the state.

Addressing IGP and related social challenges requires more than services alone; it requires connected investment in relationships, resources, and systems that work together on behalf of families. The Human Services Division aims to lead that work — mobilizing community assets and expertise to expand opportunity, support lasting progress, and help families break the cycles.

ICAN

Integrating Community Assets & Networks (ICAN) helps families in Utah County overcome barriers and move toward stability through coordinated support and community partnerships.

Winter Task Force

The Utah County Winter Task Force coordinates community partners to operate warming centers for unsheltered individuals during the winter months. These centers provide protection from the cold while helping individuals stabilize and connect with supportive services.
