Housing Stability Program

Overview

Utah County's Housing Stability Program provides temporary rental assistance to families who are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness. Funded through a grant, the program helps families remain housed or secure safe housing while connecting them to supportive services and community resources. By addressing immediate housing needs and supporting long-term stability, the program works to prevent homelessness and help families build a more secure future.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Income: Meet TANF income requirements (see chart)
  • Families: At least one eligible child under the age of 18 in the household
  • Legal Status: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or qualified non-citizens that meet federal work participation requirements (qualified non-citizens include approved refugees; pending applications do not qualify).
  • Prevention of Homelessness: Must demonstrate that assistance is needed to avoid homelessness or be currently homeless.
  • Future Rent Sustainability: Application must include documentation showing the ability to pay rent moving forward
